Yume AI claims that the website is “all about making realistic yet fantasy-fueled relationships.”

And because I love anime, I thought I would check the site out and see what it is all about. Here is a look at what happened when I tried Yume AI, created a virtual companion and engaged with her through the platform’s chat feature.

Creating an anime character

If you ask me, one of the best features of Yume AI is that you get to create custom anime characters. 

After landing on the Create Character page, I got to choose my girl’s ethnicity, age, facial features, body type and breast size. Then I selected her personality, our relationship, occupation, voice, and kinks.

After that, it was as easy as clicking and within seconds, the AI took my preferences and created a stunning character just for me. 

Chatting with Yume’s AI 

The next thing to check out was the chat feature, which seemed fun at first, but left me a bit disappointed. 

I liked that the AI responded quickly and the fact that there’s an AI-powered “call me” feature, which I didn’t get the chance to try. The responses were also paired with contextual cues, like “winks playfully” or “blushes and giggles,” which adds a bit of immersiveness to the conversation. 

However, I was disappointed because the AI didn’t really seem to enjoy adult-themed chat. The character may have warmed to it over-time. But initially, she seems to prefer casual conversation over erotic-themed chat. 

Generating NSFW content

Using the image generator was also fun and easy.

The first step is to  select a pre-made or custom character. Then you need to enter a text prompt, select a few personalization options (outfit, action, pose or accessories) and then the AI generates a custom image based on your inputs. 

I have nothing bad to say about the image creator itself. It was easy to use. The layout is clean and intuitive. And creating content is straightforward. But I felt like it lacked some of the customization options you see on other AI image generation platforms.

To access NSFW content and unlimited chat, you must choose from a monthly, quarterly, or yearly membership, which cost C$5.99/month, C$10.99/month or C$17.99/month respectively. 

All subscriptions provide you with 100 tokens per month, the ability to remove image blur, engage in AI calls, and more. 

Is Yume AI worth paying for?

If you love anime, it might be worth signing up and paying for Yume AI. It’s a fun and easy-to-use platform. But, in my opinion, it’s not your best option when it comes to AI chat, image generators and character builders. 

I feel like the chat feature just didn’t live up to the NSFW name. And the image generator lacks some of the customization options found on other platforms. 

In the end, if anime or hentai are your thing, then check Yume AI out for yourself. But the free trial is relatively limited, the subscriptions feel a bit pricey for what you get, and I really do think there are better AI generators out there.
